Hello, welcome to Blog Central. This is where you learn how to build an affiliate website. Today’s topic is going to be on plugins.
Now, that you have a niche and I hope that you have got your own domain. You should have some pages set up and you are ready to go. I want to tell you about plugins. Some of these you will need and some I recommend. You really don’t want to get a lot of plugins because they say it slows your site. But I have a plugin that will help that out. We will be getting into that later.
I will have 13 plugins that we will discuss. I’ll make this into 3 part posts. This post will be on the first 5 plugins. If you have not read the rest of the training posts that go with this one, I will leave links at the end of this post. Fill free to check them out.
You can go to plugins and add new plugins. Some will already be on your dashboard of your website that comes with WordPress. Others you will have to search for. The Plugins I recommend, I will tell you how to search them. Because there are tons of others that might interest you more than the ones I have.
I’ll discuss the first 5 plugins with you in this post.
All In One SEO Pack
The first plugin in All In One SEO pack. You just need to add new under plugin and you can search for this. You will get a list of different ones, but I recommend just using this one. The free version is all you really need.
This plugin is the most downloaded plugin for WordPress. Almost 30 million have been downloaded. This plugin was first created in 2007. This plugin will automatically optimize your site for the search engines.
Here are some of the things the All In One SEO Pack will offer:
XML Sitemap support-submit your sitemap to Google handling and improve your SEO
Google Analytics support
Fine tune page Navigational Links
Only free plugin to provide SEO Integration for e-Commerce sites, including WooCommerce.
Automatically optimizes your titles for Google and other search engines.
Generates Meta tags automatically.
For beginners, you don’t even have to look at the options, it works out of the box. Just install.
And much, much more
So, as you can see, the All In One SEO Pack plugin is a must. This plugin is easy to use and will help you get ranked in the search engines.
Google XML Sitemaps
The next plugin will be Google XML Sitemaps. There are other sitemaps, but I highly recommend this one. This plugin will generate a special XML sitemap. This plugin will help search engines to better index your blog.
This Sitemap will better help with Google, Bing, Yahoo, and even ask.com to better index your blog. This will help the crawlers to see the complete structure of your site. Also, it retrieves it more efficiently. Every time you create a post, Google XML Sitemaps will notify all major search engines about your new post.
Google XML Sitemaps is the best WordPress plugin and have been supported over 9 years. This plugin is guaranteed not to break up your site, or slow it down. This plugin will not annoy you. It does what it is supposed to do. Providing a complete XML Sitemaps for search engines.
The next plugin is Akismet. This will help you with spam comments. This plugin will come in handy and it does work. It’s not full proof but you will get rid of most if not all of the spam comments people like to send.
This plugin analyzes masses of data from millions of sites and communities in real time. There are a lot of dirty tactics people try to use to get inside of your site. Akismet will help with the most proficient spammers. This plugin will save you time because you do have better things to do than worry about all the spammers that try to invade your site.
Once you get this plugin, do these 3 things:
Sign up for an Akismet plan that best suits your need. The free version will work just fine.
Use your API key to activate your Akismet plugin.
After that, rest easy knowing that Akismet is protecting your site from spam
You need this plugin, so make sure that you have it.
SI Captcha Anti-Spam
The next plug is the SI Captcha Anti-Spam. This method can be added for comments, registration, lost the password, login, or all of them. Before doing any of these tasks, you will have to put in a code shown on the image. The prevents spam from automated bots. This plugin works great with Akismet.
Here are just a few of this plugin’s features:

I have visited some sites here at Wealthy Affiliate and found that some people don’t have this activated. I highly recommend activating this plugin.
WP Super Cache
The last plugin that we will discuss is the WP Super Cache. This is a very fast caching engine for WordPress that produces static Html files. Your web server will serve that file instead of processing the comparatively heavier and more expensive WordPress PHP scripts. static Html files will be served to the majority of your users. Static files are served to:

Users who have not left a comment on your blog.
Or users who have not viewed a password protected post.
99% of your visitors will be served static HTML files. This plugin serves cached files in 3 ways (ranked by speed)
Mod_rewrite: The fastest method is by using Apache mod_rewrite to serve super cached static Html files.
PHP: super cached static files can now be served by PHP.
Legacy caching: This is mainly used to cache pages for known users.
This is the recommended setting. Advanced users will best likely use the mod_rewrtie. But the PHP caching is almost as good and recommended for everyone else. Here is the setting you should be using:

This is a must plugin. Especially if you have a lot of plugins. This will help your site.
