Buying Traffic For Your Website, Why It’s A Bad Idea?

Buying Traffic For Your Website

Hello, welcome to Blog Central. This is where I will tell you why buying traffic to your website is a bad idea.

Get read traffic that matters to your website

I had a question the other day about getting traffic to your website. The person asked, “Can I buy traffic to my website, will it hurt my ranking with google?” So this gave me an idea to write a post on the subject. Plus, I have had an experienced with buying traffic. I’ll tell you my story real quick on this subject.

I went to Fiverr, looking around to see what kinds of gigs they had. I came across some gigs for buying traffic. I looked it over. Seen one that interest me. For $5.00, I could get over 100 people a day coming to my website for a month. I went ahead and did. Boy, I had a lot of people coming to my website. If felt great, at least, I thought it did.

Now, I want to tell you why I thought it was not a good idea. All these people come to your website but they don’t leave comments and they don’t even stay on your website for very long. So what good was that? It really didn’t hurt my site but was a waste of time.

You want people to visit your site because they like what you have to say. So, do a little work and get it known. Did you know it can take up to 2 years, some longer and some not, to get known. That’s why I say, don’t give up, keep working at it.

One other thing, Fiverr is not a bad site to go to. I encourage people to visit them. They do have some awesome gigs.

Reasons Not To Buy Traffic

You can buy traffic and get all kinds of people coming to your site. The bad thing is that you don’t know who or what kind of people are coming to your website. It does no good if people come but don’t buy or take advice from what you are providing. A lot of companies that you buy traffic from use bots to visit your website. You don’t want that, do you? You want real people coming to visit you.

Do you want bots coming to your website

When you buy traffic, it’s untargeted traffic. That is something you don’t want. Your goal is to or should be to have some kind of targeted traffic coming to you. You want certain kinds of people that will buy what you have to offer. When you buy traffic, you are not getting the results you should  be getting.

When you buy traffic, people just visit your site for a few minutes if even that. They don’t click on your AdSense ads or other important things you have on your site.

So don’t waste your money buying traffic, instead invest your money in good traffic sources.

Can It Hurt Your Ranking With Google?

Even though buying traffic can help in the short run, in the long run, it can hurt you.  If you do it once and realized the mistake you made and don’t continue doing it, you might be okay with the search engines. But if you keep doing it, the search engines like google can penalize you for it. Google has multiple algorithmic updates, designed to penalize what it deems to be duplicitous and dishonest optimization.

Build your visitors up the natural way, don’t take shortcuts

Even though buying traffic won’t necessary hurt you, the search engines just won’t rank you. Google knows when you buy traffic. They can see that a lot of your traffic are coming from bots. That is a bad thing.

What really hurt you when buying bad traffic are links. When you buy bad traffic, the seller tends to funnel traffic to your site through low-quality blogs that Google flags as negative. You can get bad backlinks which Google will see and flag as spam.

So as far as hurting you in the rankings. It can hurt you if you buy from a website that doesn’t use real people. You don’t know if the site is worth it or not. So don’t do it.

My Final Words

It’s totally up to you. If you want to buy traffic, go for it. But remember I warned you first. Take it from me because I was stupid to buy the traffic I bought. I was new and didn’t know no better. I will never do it again, though. I want real traffic, not fake traffic.
